The expertise of the different thematic advisory committees in Deutsches Studierendenwerk is an indispensible part of the work of the Studierendenwerke. The committees draw up and evaluate key topics of the Studierendenwerkes work for the respective field and use their expertise to advise the relevant organs.

There are currently ten committees on issues such as student housing, dining services, advisory and counselling services, study financing, international affairs, and much more. The committees are made up of people working in the Studierendenwerke on all levels and usually at least two student representatives.
