Once the first step has been successfully taken and the the desired study place is received, students are now faced with the next big challenge. Finding affordable accommodation is often a difficult task, at least in metropolitan areas and popular university locations.
The Studierendenwerke offer around 195,000 places in more than 1,700 student residence halls. The average rent at the Studierendenwerke is only 280 euros per month, including all additional costs, making it the cheapest form of housing for students outside their parents' home.
