The Board of Trustees (“Kuratorium”) supports and encourages Deutsches Studierendenwerk in the fulfilment of its tasks and communicates and promotes its goals to the public.

The Board is a co-operation of representatives from the German Rectors' Conference (HRK), student unions, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), federal and state government, the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Association of Cities (Deutscher Städtetag), trade unions and the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry and parliamentary groups, as well as other representatives from public life.

Members of the Board of Trustees are determined by the sending organisations/institutions, the appointments lasting for the respective Board’s term of office.

The Chair of the Board of Trustees is Prof.Dr. Walther Rosenthal, President of the German Rectors' Conference.
